Hello, my name is Star Gatcke, and you are currently viewing what others would call my blog. I'll start by telling you a little bit about myself. I'm 16 y/o, born on the first of July, 2000. I am currently residing in Merida, Yucatan (which is very much located in Mexico), although I was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I've never really considered one more my home over the other. My brother and I grew up alternating between both countries, so you could say we find a little bit of home in each, in very different senses of course. Living in two countries has implemented a lot into our lives, as much culturally as in other senses. Of course it hard living in two different places, can you imagine having a craving for a "torta de cochinita" and not having any access to it whatsoever? Its like the loss of your most prized possession (which in reality could be anything; your child, your favourite pencil, whatever floats your boat). Although there are pros and cons to either situation, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
MY PERSONALITY
My personality is an unusual mixture of common and uncommon at the same time. Its normally very contradicting, I won't lie. I'm normally a happy person, I would say fun but it really depends on who you're talking to. As I previously mentioned, growing up with two cultures has shaped me in plenty of ways. Every situation has a different way of triggering my thoughts, and the way I process everything.
I like to have fun, and I take decisions that make me happy. I like to think deeply about various things, and I have yet to decide if it's functional to me in any ways. Something that would tie very closely with that is the fact that I like to look at things from a different perspective, whether it be everyday activities, other people, of pointless objects.
Overall, I like to believe I'm a very open person who's willing to take risks, discover new experiences, and enjoy every aspect to the fullest.
MY INTERESTS
I enjoy walking, at night mostly, when there are no cars roaming the streets yet. I'm a big fan of mentally analyzing other people, and not in a bad way. I try to think of what their life must be like from they're perspective, and how they react to things. I'm a huge fan of food (it could very well be because i need it to survive), and my favourite food is chilaquiles. I also am a huge fan of donuts, and any other dessert in that category.

MY AMBITIONS
I have many ambitions in life, most likely too many. Things including learning new languages, traveling to various different countries around the world and furthering my cultural knowledge.
As far as my ambitions in the work field, I would like to create a business of my own someday, and dream up a new concept, which hopefully will pan out someday. I hope to one day have my own house, and be able to say "I made it" and feel relief. I would say thats one of the things i look forward to most in life.
MY PLAN
My plan in life is to become successful. Starting small, I would like to finish my high school, no matter how hard it becomes to me. I plan on one day opening a cafe, which may or may not be a huge hit, but its worth the risk.
I have gained the habit of writing a journal, and I have been writing for a few years now. I hope to one day find a way to compile all of my books into one, whether it be for personal enjoyment and a form of keepsakes or, if possible, publishing for the leisure of reading.
OUR EARTH
I have many varying thoughts about our world, and the people in it. I think there are many highs and lows, which balances everything out perfectly. Of course there are some main concerns in my mind about the earth, such as environmental issues, the people residing on our planet, and they're attitude towards everyone as a solid form of humanity. I would like to say I can fix it, but everything requires patience and a whole lot of baby steps. My main concern at the moment would be the upcoming elections, and I am afraid. I don't plan on elaborating to in depth today, but even though some things are wrong, there are so many more that are amazing (and right, just for the satisfaction of contradiction).

THE PEOPLE SURROUNDING ME
I have so many amazing people in my life, and a lot of love surrounds me. I have plenty of healthy relationships, and I am grateful everyday. Some of the people that are apart of my everyday life are my school colleagues, my work companions, and my immediate family. I couldn't of asked for greater people in my life.
